Learn more at the Dubspot Blog: bit.ly The Traktor Kontrol S4 is a new hardware and software controller for Native Instruments with a lot of exciting features. In this first part of our series Traktor product specialist DJ Endo walks us through the decks and mixer portion of the controller. Watch out for parts 2 and 3 coming soon covering looper decks, effects and more.
Check my mixtape out, made on the S4!!:D
@lcassidy4 on the top right of the window theres a scroll bar that says essential, extended, browser, and mixer. the most detailed is the mixer layout
how do i get that layout that he has for the traktor software? with the mixer and stuff on the screen?
@WCaptainCohn NI sells an update for S4 users who wish to use timecode control with the S4. Then you can plug in your turntables into the S4 and use timecode vinyl to control your decks.
Hi Guys,I am new to digital stuff but very keen on this S4 – actually dying to get one. Any ideas on hooking up my two Stanton T92 USB turntables to this controller? I want to combine my old school feel with the new age. Looking forward to an abundance of feedback from you smart folk.
hi daniel tosh
he reminds me if daniel tosh
@DeeJayEndo thanks for getting back to me much appreciated !
@Pl4sm0 I got one of them on ebay, and the other was a gift from DJ Richie Santana from NYC. However the ones on ebay are all sold out unfortunately. Let me (and everyone else) know if you find some good ones online because there are a lot of people asking about these!
@ElMaco97 With the S4 the mapping can’t really be changed, you can just add your own layer to the mapping, so the LED’s can’t be changed (in theory). I’m sure there’s a workaround but I wouldn’t mess around with it.
@garbo196 That means you have multiple instances of the S4 mapping loaded. Go to preferences – controller manager – and click the Device dropdown menu. My guess is you’ll see multiple S4 mappings in there. Click on the duplicate mappings, then underneat the device dropdown menu click Edit – Delete. Don’t be afraid of deleting the wrong one. Even if you delete them all, when you unplug and plug the S4 back in it will automatically reload the S4 mapping.
@MrRjzam The S4 should come with different power adapter attachments for each country so it will work fine. Enjoy
thanks for sharing this nice tutorial.
Can u please tell me where did u got that green fluorescent usb cable……I really want it ^^
can you customise the lights as well?
i have a problem. the loop knob doesnt seem to be working properly. when i make a loop, andturn the loops know, it doesnt step down as you would expect 32/16/8 etc. it goes from like 32 to 2. really big jumps, this is really frustrating. also when browsing my library with the main browser know, it skips every second track, which is also very annoying. i really hope someone can help me. thanks

It is a universal adapter with uk , eu , usa and Asia/Japan plug heads you use the plughead on the adapter for whatever region
You are in , Rub-a-Dub records in Glasgow
Are cheaper than native instruments (£770)
Rub-a-Dub £750 for the s4 I got mine last week , best piece of equipment yet . All native instrument products are from Germany , not the USA, is it a lot cheaper in the USA. ?
@DeeJayEndo hope u can help ? My wife has got her aunt who lives in the usa to buy the s4 and send it to uk for my b’day ! What I’m worried about is will it work as the US and Uk have different voltage systems? Thanks
